Inconel 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with niobium added. The addition of molybdenum acts with the niobium to stiffen the alloy matrix, offering a high strength without a strengthening heat treatment. A broad range of severely corrosive environments are resisted by A625 and it is resistant to crevice corrosion and pitting. It has high durability and toughness in the temperature range cryogenic to 2000°F. It also has high fatigue strength and stress-corrosion tracking resistance to chloride ions.
